Lately

Things have been pretty good lately. We are all just enjoying life and getting some things done. Last night we had our first ever Family Game Night. We played Candy Land (a Valentine's present for Eli and Diego), Chutes and Ladders, Mickey Mouse Yahtzee, and Eli's I Spy Game. Diego mostly played with puzzles, cars, and read books. We listen to music too. It was actually pretty fun- we will definitely do it again!
I have decided to start making birthday cards for friends and family this year. Yesterday I bought some blank cards and some stickers from Wal-Mart. Last month I bought a Happy Birthday stamp from Michael's. Eli and I made all the March and April birthdays. We had fun and I really enjoyed creating with Eli. I let him completely make Diego's card all by himself. I want to get better at card making as the year goes by. This batch of cards are better than Jan. and Feb. cards, so I'm already improving!
I have started going to a scripture class on Tuesday mornings. They also have a children's class that Eli and Diego go to. Tuesday they had a Valentine's party- the boys had a lot of fun. The teacher is really great.
Cesar and I spoke in sacrament meeting Sunday about scripture study. Cesar's talk was really great and I even got emotional at some points (so did he). He is a great speaker; plus, he didn't even prepare until Sunday morning.
I started a Spanish class in January. It is a free class at the library on Wednesday nights. It runs for 12 weeks. I have learned some and enjoy going. I really need to practice talking in Spanish. Cesar and I really want our boys to be fluent in Spanish and we feel like it is only going to happen if I know Spanish too.
I got serenaded on Valentine's Day. Cesar rang the doorbell and when I opened it, he opened the singing card he bought for me. It played the song Unchained Melodies. The personal message was really sweet too. He also presented me with a bouquet of flowers and a box of Thin Mint girl scout cookies. He is such a sweet husband and I am so lucky to have him!

My lion and frog

My boys are so cute; I am so lucky to be their mom. Although giving them baths are not one of my favorite things. I do love clean boys though! They got this cute towels for Christmas.

Eli's Fort

Cesar and Eli built this fort. They draped blankets over the pool table. Cesar is so nice to play with Eli eventhough he is still feeling sick. I love my family and I loved overhearing Cesar and Eli telling stories in their fort. Sweet moments!

Snow Storm and Sickness

Diego looking out the window at all the snow.
My parent's front yard- my new camera takes panoramic pictures!
We have had a lot of snow the past two days. It snowed all day yesterday- I think it's over now. The snow is so beautiful and white. My parents have been busy shoveling. They have gone out 5 or 6 times I think. The boys have not even asked to go out and play yet. I know the snow will be around for a long time so we will have plenty of time to play in it.
Cesar has been really sick! It's been awful. We thought he had bronchitis because he cough is so horrible and dry, but now we think he probably has the flu. He is the only one that didn't get a flu shot this year. We all got sick, but not nearly as bad as him. Poor guy. The worst part has been him not being able to sleep. The past two nights he has slept in the basement in a recliner chair and a couple of nights before that I spent most of the night sleeping on the couch because his coughing and tossing and turning was keeping me up. Troy and my dad gave him a priesthood blessing Wednesday night. He is feeling a little better each day, so hopefully he will be well soon.

Lovey

Diego loves his lovey. He is growing more and more attached to it as he gets older. It's cute, but also not so cute. He has to have it to sleep and now has started carrying it around everywhere. I dread the day if it ever gets lost.

The Park in January

We have had some snow this January, it is actually snowing right now, but we have also had some warm January days. On one of those days the boys and I went to the park and had a good time. There were no other kids there, but we did have some deer friends come visit. There are so many deer in my parent's neighborhood. Eli and I joked that the deer had to come to the park to use the bathroom. A few of the deer walked directly by the bathroom! It is so nice to get outside and enjoy the sunshine in the winter.

New Year's Eve!

Wow! It's already 2012!
We celebrated at home with the boys around 6:30 p.m. They went to bed at their regular 7:00 bedtime. We counted down from 10 and then screamed Happy New Year and threw some confetti and made noise with the noise makers. We also danced. Eli is quite the little dancer- he cracked all of us up with is moves.
After the kids went to bed, my parents, Cesar, and I watched a movie and then watched the New York ball drop at midnight. I don't usually stay up late, but I actually made it until midnight!
I am looking forward to 2012. I want to learn new piano songs, learn basic sewing, and do family history, among other things. Cesar is hoping to get a new job and we are both hoping to be able to buy our house in Stapleton. I'm really looking forward to a new house and making it a home.
