Beauty All Around

I always love when I make the time to go to the temple.  It is so peaceful and beautiful.
This is taken at Bluff Lake Nature Center.  It's nice to see nature up close sometimes.  I've gone three times in the last month- once by myself, once with my mom, Ruby, and Melissa, and once with my friend Mindi.  I love that I live so close to it.

General Conference.  The Music and speakers were beautiful and it was wonderful to be able to watch in my lovely home with  my family.

Diego is growing up!

Diego learned how to ride a bike without training wheels.  Cesar ran with him holding on to the back of the bike a couple of times and then Diego just took off and has been doing it ever since!  He feels like a big boy know.
Also, Diego participated in his first team sport- flag football.  He had a good time with other 5 and 6 year olds.  He scored a touch down during his very first game!  He was so proud of himself.  The whole season there was good weather.  There was only one practice that was cancelled because of rain.

Legos

There was a Lego contest at the library that our family won!  We had to make some sort of an animal and we made a dinosaur.  We got free zoo tickets as a prize.

At the zoo they had a Lego exhibition that was pretty cool.  Cesar took the afternoon off one day that the boys were off of school during fall break and we all went to the zoo.

This baby zebra was only 2 or 3 weeks old- so cute!
sleeping lion- he opened his eyes a few times and it was kind of crazy that the only thing between us was glass.

carousel ride for Ruby, Diego, and Cesar.

We also saw something quite gross, but we all got a laugh from it.  We saw a giraffe behind another giraffe that started peeing and then the giraffe started drinking the pee!  When the one giraffe finished peeing they both just walked away like it was completely normal!

Eli is 8!

Eli had a nice birthday weekend celebrating his 8th birthday!  Friday he had a celebration in his classroom that Ruby, Diego, and I came to.  I thought it was nice his teacher invited Diego to come.  His classmates took turns saying something that they appreciate about Eli.  A lot of the comments had to do with what a nice friend he is and how funny he is.

Then after school we had a surprise for him!  I invited some friends and neighbors to come to the courtyard for an after school snack.  We had strawberries and root beer floats.  The kids played a while and we all had a good time.

Saturday we took him on a birthday outing!  He invited 2 friends to come with us to Miners Maze Adventurelatnd.  They got to do some fun stuff including an obstacle course.  I went up there too and it was scary!  I only did a few of the obstacles, but Eli and his friends stayed up there for a long time and did everything- pretty fearless kids!

And then on Sunday we sang to Eli at my parent's house and had brownies.

Eli's Baptism

Eli was baptized Oct. 17, 2015.  It was a great service and I really felt the Spirit.  My mom and Sandra gave great talks and Cesar gave Eli a nice blessing.  There were 40 people there.  Eli wrote about the day in his journal and mentioned that there were not many people there- I think 40 is a lot!  Funny how people perceive things differently.  I'm happy Eli got baptized and is on the right path.  I love him so much!
