Father's Day

(I don't take many picture with my dad obviously...these are from my wedding four years ago.)

I'm so grateful I have such a great dad. He has taught me a lot and always provided for me. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and is such a hard worker. He has been such a great father to me and all his kids, and a great grandpa to my boys!

(Cesar got glasses. I really like them and think they make him look very smart and handsome.)

(this picture was taken at Music in the park Thursday night)

Cesar is a great father to Eli and Diego. He spends time with them and tells them he loves them. He makes them laugh and acts silly with them. I'm grateful to such a great husband and father of my kids.
We went to church Sunday and then went to my parent's house for dinner. We had a good time enjoying good food, company, and nice weather. Cesar gave a good lesson in Gospel Doctrine about the Sacrament. He said he is grateful for the sacrament each week and that he helps him stay on track. I'm also thankful we can partake of the sacrament and renew our covenants and spend that time quietly thinking about the Atonement and Jesus.

Sleep

Diego has slept ALL night for the past 5 nights!!! I love it.

I feed him around 8 p.m., put him to sleep, and he doesn't wake up until around 7 a.m.! I'm not sure if this will last, but for now I'm enjoying it. (I fed Eli in the middle of the night at least once until he was 14 months.) Diego still sleeps in our room in the bassinet. Eli has a toddler bed that he uses about half the time, the other times he still sleeps in his crib. We always put him to sleep in his "big boy bed", but if he comes out of his room 2 or 3 times we then put him in the crib. He doesn't really mind being in there, I think he actually likes it.

I wonder when and how we are going to move Diego into Eli's room. I'm worried that Eli will wake up if Diego wakes up and vice versa. I'm sure it will all work out somehow.
*they have never both slept in the crib together- that was just for the picture.

Beverages

When Eli wakes up in the morning I ask him what he dreamed about. He always takes a while to think about it and then answers that he dreamed about milk, water, or orange juice. It's never been anything else. Funny kid!

During breakfast I give him orange juice to start off with and by the time breakfast is over he often has three cups in front of him; OJ, milk, and water. He likes to drink!

Vacations

Cesar took a Maymester Southwestern Architecture class (three week class in between Spring and Summer). As part of the class they took a 9 day "field trip". It was a road trip to Arizona, New Mexico, and part of Colorado. They visited different sites a long the way. Cesar had a great time! I'm glad he got to go and enjoyed his vacation.

While he was gone, Eli, Diego, and I spent four nights at my parent's house. We had a great time also! We missed Cesar a lot though! We went to a festival in the Park. Eli enjoyed playing with this big soccer ball and trying to Hula-Hoop. It was so cute.My mom and I tried to take the boys on a hike in Castle Rock. We didn't get very far at all! Eli just wanted to be held, and carrying Diego was killing my back. We walked a short distance and found a picnic table where we stopped and had a snack, then we walked back to the car. Eventhough we didn't make it to the top, it was still nice to be out in nature for a short time.
We played outside a lot and I got to go in the hot tub and relax. Eli slept great at night and even took one nap while we were there. Diego mostly slept in his car seat carrier. I'm glad we got to spend time with my parents. Eventhough they only live 30 minutes away, it still felt like a vacation!

Here is a quick video of Eli:

At the end of the week we got to pick up Cesar from the light rail station and be together as family again.

Out with the old, In with the new

My glasses broke in half Wednesday. I had had those glasses for 6 or 7 years! It was time for new glasses.
My new glasses! I like them a lot and they are transition lenses. I'm so glad Cesar had the day off Thursday so that he could come with me and help me pick the frames. He also got glasses, but his won't be ready for a week. Luckily, mine only took a couple of hours.
