Diego's 4th birthday

Diego is Four!
We had a fun angry bird party at home for him.  He invited 4 friends- Greta, Orion, Mayan, and Andrew.  We played the Angry Bird game we have, we broke a piƱata, ate strawberries and goldfish crackers, sang and had cake, and opened presents.

We told Diego that he was going to get a haircut when he turned 4; so it wasn't until a few days after his actual birthday that we went and got his haircut.  Until then he said he was still 3 and as soon as he got his haircut, he said he was 4!  Silly boy.  This was his first haircut at an actual place; Cesar has always cut his hair at home.  He did really good and stayed perfectly still.

Walking Denver

I checked out a book from the library called Walking Denver.  It outlines several walks to go on in and around Denver.  Ruby, Diego, and I tried one out on Monday.  We started with an easy one that is close (Park Hill), was about a mile, included a park and a library.  The weather was great and it was nice to walk.  I hope to do more walks soon.

a very cool tree house in someone's yard.  Diego really wanted to go in it, and so did I!

Family Pictures 2013

My parents organized family pictures in December.  I'm so glad they did because it's so nice to have such good pictures.

Eli and Diego's testimonies

Eli bore his testimony Sunday in sacrament meeting.  He asked if he could go up and do it and I said sure, and off he went right up to the steps and sat down right by the Bishop and waited for his turn.  He hadn't practiced or anything and he did a great job!  Here is some of what he said:
" I know the Church is true and I know that God is true and that He lives in heaven and He wants us all to go to heaven and I really want to go to heaven.  I know that Jesus died on the cross so we can all go to heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
I felt the Spirit while he was talking and got teary eyed.  I was so proud of him!

My dad asked Diego to give a spiritual thought before family dinner the other week.  He decided to say his testimony.  He said, "I believe in God.  I believe in my family and I love them.  In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."  He did it without help too.  Then he gave a nice prayer.  Diego also gave the opening prayer in  Primary opening exercises two weeks ago.  He talked clearly and slowly without any help.  I was proud of my little Sunbeam!

I love my boys so much and am so glad they like church and going to Primary.  I'm grateful that our ward has such a nice primary and they have great teachers.  I recently got called to be the Primary secretary and I'm liking it.

Ruby's One!

Ruby is the sweetest little girl.  She is 1 now!  We had a cake party for her and guess what she did for the first time even before we got to the cake?!  She threw up!  Poor baby girl got sick.  She recovered well and after getting cleaned up was able to celebrate.

Ruby is such a fun, sweet, easy baby.  She smiles and laughs easily.  She entertains herself pretty well and sleeps great.  She likes eating a lot of food, but doesn't like milk yet.  I'm still nursing her a few times each day.  She has fun playing with her brothers.  Her first (and only word) is "Hi".  She likes to carry on conversations with her own baby language.

I love her so much and am so blessed to finally have my Ruby!

We played a game called 12 Months of Ruby.  You had to put the pictures in order.  My  mom won with only getting 2 wrong!

I made the same apple cake that I have made for both Eli and Diego's first birthdays.

Diego's Preschool

Diego started Preschool in January.  He goes to Lowry Preschool, Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  There are 5 kids from church that are in his class too, including his best friend, Orion.  He loves it and I do too!  It is nice to be able to drop him off for 2 1/2 hours and know that he is learning and having fun.

Mexico vacation, part 1

We went to Mexico in December and had a fun time.  We went to Arshell's wedding and spent four days in Mexico City and then a week in Cancun!  It is difficult traveling with kids, but we made some great memories and had some fun times, so I'm glad we got to go!
Here are pictures from Mexico City:

eating lunch at a small restaurant across from our hotel.  We ate outside- the weather was wonderful!
 eating tacos with Marco's family
Cesar with Arshell and Yannik (his niece and nephew)
Eli and Diego playing with Marco and Dinorah at a nice park near their apartment
 at the park
family picture outside of the temple.  Cesar and I were able to go inside for Arshell and Ricardo's sealing.  Cesar's other nieces and nephew took care of the kids.

Cesar's grandma made all the bride's maid dresses and the wedding dress!  Beautiful.

They had a reception that Cesar went to, but the kids and I stayed at the hotel and slept.  The party was from 9:30- 2 a.m.!  Cesar had a good time seeing relatives, dancing, and eating!

When we went to Mexico City five years ago, we rented a car; this time we stuck with taxis and buses.  It was too crazy trying to drive and navigate the crazy streets.  The buses are sometimes soooo crowded.  It was a little scary at times trying to keep track of the kids and pushing ourselves out when we had to get off.  We survived though.  It was nice to see Marco's family and for the kids to get to know their cousins.
