Moving Day

We moved Setember 8th from my parent's house to our Stapleton house.  I was very nervous beforehand and anxious, but the actual day went pretty well. We got so much help; we are so grateful.  I'm especially grateful for my family's help- LaResa watched Eli and Diego all day while we moved, Troy, Crystal, and Tony helped with loading and undloading.  We got other help too from some friends and ward members. 
We rented a big Uhaul truck and made one trip to Stapleton.  We loaded up all our stuff from my parent's house, Troy's basement, and LaResa's garage. 
We are happy to be in our new home, but things are still a mess and we don't have a kitchen yet which is a pretty big problem.  We have been working hard at organizing, putting things away, and trying to get back to normal.

Full Moon

When Diego saw the full moon the other night while we were driving home, he said, "I want to touch the moon."  Who knows maybe one day he will!

Preschool!

Eli started preschool today!  He was super excited and so was I.  He goes in the afternoon (1:00-3:40) Mon- Fri and is in Ms. Casey's class at Westerly Creek Elementary.  He didn't cooperate very well with picture taking, but they are okay I guess.  (fyi: he is not picking his nose or sucking on his fingers, his hand is just on his face)

I worried and worried about what preschool he was going to go to and it finally fell all into place.  Originally we figured he would go to the new public school right down the street from our new house. We filled out the application in January and then waited and waited.  He was on the waitlist and we hoped that one day we would get a call that they had a space for him, well that never happened.  So, in July I started searching for a school for him.  I knew we didn't want to spend too much money and that I just wanted him to go part-time.  We probably visited around 8 or 9 schools.  There were a couple that we almost went with, until last Friday.  Friday morning I got a call from Denver Public Schools that they had a spot for Eli in the afternoon at Westerly Creek.  I spent the whole day trying to decide between the public school or Creative Options which we had already decided on.  I decided on Westerly Creek and I'm glad I did.  He started today (Monday) and loved it!  One of the first things he asked when I picked him up is if he is going to come back tomorrow.  I feel good about the decision. 

The big drawback is that we have not yet moved, so I will be driving him from Parker for the next 2 weeks.  He doesn't have school next Monday (Labor Day) and the Tuesday after, so that gives us two less days to have to drive. 

I am so proud of my little preschooler and hope that he has a great school year!  I hope that he chooses the right, makes nice friends, is a good friend, learns a lot, and becomes more confident in himself.

Swimming at Stapleton

The boys and I have gone swimming a couple of times in Stapleton.  We can't wait until we actually live there!  There are four pools there, we have only checked out one so far.

Cesar turns 35!

 We ate at 3 Margaritas for Cesar's birthday this year.  We got a great deal too.  We ended up paying about $6 plus tip for all of us to eat!  (We bought a Groupon Now -$15 for $30 worth of food, but Cesar had $10 from Groupon so we just ended up paying $5 for $30 food and then we paid tax at the resturant and tip).  When I left the table to go to the restroom I told the waiter it was Cesar's birthday, so they suprised him with this big sombrero and a happy birthday song and put icecream on his nose!  It was fun.

After dinner we stopped by Village Inn and got pie for dessert.  It was fun to finally be able to relax and spend time with the family- it's been a while because Cesar has been so busy building our new kitchen.
