Happy Easter 2012

Big Mess

Friday night I felt like a teenager again (and not in a good way). I left the boys downstairs playing while I went to vacuum upstairs. After I finished their room I went to check on them, and this is what I saw!
Earlier in the day, my dad had received a package in the mail and had left the box out. Eli and Diego decided to empty out the box and play in all the packing things. At first I thought that it was harmless. I would let them play while I finished vacuuming upstairs.
They had a great time and I had fun watching them and taking pictures. Until it was time to clean up! The mess just kept growing and growing and my parents were going to be home in 15 or so minutes, so we started cleaning up.

Cleaning up the mess proved to be a much bigger task than I anticipated. We picked up the big ones- the ones that hadn't been broken into smaller pieces, but the thing is is those things get staticy and won't come off your hands. The boys were trying to help me, but then I decided maybe I could work better alone. I undressed them and sent them upstairs. By this time I didn't know if I should call my parents and worn them of the mess or if I should just try to finish before they arrived. I wondered if I was going to be able to get it all off the carpet or if pieces were going to get embedded in it permanently. I wondered if I was going to ruin their vacuum. I was starting to panic, but I pulled it off! I tried sweeping them up, but that didn't work. Then I was able to vacuum up most of it.
After the mess was clean, I gave the boys a quick bath and confessed to my parent's when they got home. A lot can happen when the parents leave for an hour! During the whole ordeal I couldn't stop laughing. Eli was confused because I told him we were going to be in big trouble, but I was still laughing.
I was exhausted and ready for sleep as soon as we put the boys to bed.

Great Scriptures

I came across two great scriptures in the Book of Mormon last night while studying.

Alma 56:48
And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it.

and from El Libro de Mormon

Alma 56:48
Y me repitieron las palabras de sus madres, diciendo: No dudamos que nuestras madras lo sabian.

I have a wonderful mother. I do not doubt that she has a strong testimony of the gospel and of Jesus Christ. I know it because of her actions. I know it because of the love she shows for her family and for others.
I want to be this kind of mother to Eli and Diego. I don't want them to doubt the love I have for Jesus Christ. I want them to see Christlike attributes in me just like I do in my mother. I don't want them to ever doubt that I know what is most important in this life.

I am starting to read some from El Libro de Mormon in hopes that I will pick up some more Spanish that way. I just finished a 3 month Spanish class and don't want to stop studying just because the class is finished. I would really love to one day know Spanish and to be able to speak it.

and the other great scripture from last night is

3 Nephi 27:21

Verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and ye know that things that ye must do in my church; for the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye also do; for that which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do.

3 Nefi 27:21

En verdad, en verdad os digo que este es mi evangelio; y vosotros sabeis las cosas que debeis hacer en mi iglesia; pues las esas tambien las hareis; porque aquello que me habeis visto hacer eso hareis vosotros.

I know that things that I must do to be happier in my life- and now I just need to see to it that I do them!

Elmo Heads

We had some fun (well most of us did- notice Diego is crying) with one of Diego's birthday presents last night.

Diego is Two!

We had a fun birthday party for Diego's 2nd birthday. We invited six families and everyone came (Grace and fam, Huish, Foulgers, Greers, LaResa and fam, and my parents). We all had fun and I think Diego liked being the center of attention. We played pin the nose on Elmo, ring around the rosies, head shoulders knees and toes, treasure hunt, and used Diego's new bubble machine. Cesar made Diego's cake and did a great job again! He is designated our family birthday cake maker.

6th Anniversary Date and old pictures

Cesar and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary in Silverthorne and Dillon.  My mom took care of our boys all day and we went on an all day date!  It was so much fun and to just be with Cesar and get to spend so much time together.  We ate lunch at a little restaurant in Dillon then went to the lake and spent a few hours there.  We relaxed on a bench and talked for a long time and walked around the lake a little.  The lake was frozen.  The mountains were so beautiful with a little bit of snow on them.  The weather was perfect; not too cold and not too hot.  We actually ended up getting a little sunburned from staying out so long.

After our relaxing time at the lake we did a little shopping at the outlet mall in Silverthorne- we didn't end up buying anything, we just looked around.  We went to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant in Dillon.  The food was really good.
We went to an ice castle in Silverthorne.  It was really cool how they sculpt the castles.  We first arrived a little before sunset and decided we also wanted to see the castle after dark, so we went for some dessert and then went back.  It was worth it because seeing after dark was cool because they had light everywhere.

I love Cesar so much and love being married to him.  It is a blessing in both of our lives to have each other.  I look forward to so many more happy years together.
Here are some pictures of the past years together:
before we were married- 2005
 wedding day- 2006
1st year anniversary trip to Miami- 2007

not our anniversary, but a cute picture of us in 2008 from our Mexico trip

3rd anniversary date to see Bill Cosby- 2009

unfortunately I can not find one picture of just the two of us from 2010!  On our 4th anniversary Diego was only one week old, so we didn't go out and celebrate.

We Love Books

What would we do without public libraries?
We go once a week or more and check out several books. The boys looks at their books everyday and we read them all the time!
