Cesar's Job(s)

Cesar got laid off from Cahen architecture May 10th.  And his job at Triunity enginerring has slowed way down and is getting very little work from them.  He is looking for jobs, but in the meantime he has kept busy.  He has continued inspections and has done some handyman work at a couple of neighbors houses for extra income.  He is very resourceful and I haven't really been too worried about money.  He has continued working on our house too.  He finished Ruby's room and the boys playroom.

Here are the boys helping him tile our bathroom.

It has been nice to have him home more often.  He helps with the kids and I am able to leave them with him sometimes while I go run an errand, or I can leave sleeping Ruby with him while I take the boys somewhere.

He got a new job and started August 26th (the same day Eli started kindergarten).  He has enjoyed him first week of work and thinks he will end up liking the job.  He works for Newman Architecture.  It is a small firm, just Steve Newman- the architect, Cesar, and one other guy.  He works in a small office building that is right next to Steve's house in Lakewood.  We feel blessed with the new job and also blessed that we never had to worry about money during the last few months.

The Beach

We went to Aurora Reservoir the other day.  It was on our summer list of things to do and we finally got to it the week before school started.  It was a nice day and the boys really enjoyed themselves.  Ruby had a good time too until she got sleepy.

Cesar helped the boys build a sand castle with a mote around it.

Summer Days

We had a nice Independence Day.  In the morning we went to our ward breakfast.  We ate pancakes, eggs, and bacon.  It was fun, but too hot and sunny- there was little shade.

In the afternoon the boys played well together in their playroom and on the computer, Ruby took a couple of good naps, Cesar did an inspection and finished hanging up some art work downstairs, and I read and took care of the kids.

In the evening we went to a BBQ at some ward members house.  It was nice to get out, eat, talk, and the kids played.

After we put the kids to sleep, Cesar and I walked over to the sledding hill across the street at Central Park.  Sandra was here to stay with the kids.  We were able to see many fireworks shows from all over the city.  Next year we want to take the kids with us.  The biggest shows that we could see the best were from Aurora and the soccer stadium not far from us.  It was nice to be on the hill with so many neighbors enjoying the fireworks.

The kids and I have had some fun at local parks.  Often we meet friends there too.

Ruby's first time in a swing.  She like it!
The boys playing on a slip n slide.  Their neighbor friend, Caroline, invited them to play with her on the grass outside our house.
Ruby's first time sitting up in this stroller.
Eli can ride a bike without training wheels now!  He didn't even need any lessons.  He just tried and did it on his own!
Diego learned how to ride his tricycle alone (without me pushing him) and a month or so later he learned to ride a bike with training wheels!  Way to go Eli and Diego!

The boys went to Cousin Camp last night and had fun!  I am so glad my parents do it every year.  My kids really look forward to it and will always remember the memories they make there.

We had a garage sale and made $340!

Schools Out for Summer

Eli is finished with preschool!  He had a great school year and really enjoyed his class.  Next year he will be a big kindergartner!

Ms. Casey and Ms. Sarah were great teachers!

Vacation

We went on a small vacation last week to the mountains.  We stayed in a condo in Granby.  My parents rented it for a week, but only stayed a few nights so we got to go for the rest of the time.  The boys were so excited to go on a vacation!  Once we got in the car and were ready to drive the 2 hours to get there, Diego was a little disappointed because I guess he thought we were going to go in an airplane, but he got over it quickly.

The first day we stayed inside most of the day because it was so cold outside.  We enjoyed playing games- Crazy 8, matching, fish games, and guessing games.  It was nice to just relax and enjoy each others company.

We went to Grand Lake and walked around a little bit before we got too cold!  The lake and mountains were beautiful.  We ate at a pizza restaurant before going back to the condo.
Diego seems to be sucking his thumb more and more these days.  I was hoping he would be weaning himself with age, but no luck.  He is such a loving boy.  He likes to hold hands and snuggle.  Ruby is such a sweetheart.  She is a great sister and rarely complains about her brothers getting in her face.

On our dive back we stopped at a nice park in Winter Park and played even though it was super windy.

My three little monkeys.  I love them all so much!

Swimming

The outdoor swimming pools opened this weekend.  We went twice already and may go again today.  Stapleton has four pools and one more on the way.

Eli is doing great in the water.  He jumps in the pool all by himself (with and without his floaties) and does great going under a lot.

Astronaut and Cowboy

Eli:  I'm going to be an astronaut when I get bigger.

Diego:  I will be a cowboy in the desert.

Eli:  The desert is a long way from space, I will miss Diego.  "Diego, do you want to be an astronaut with me?"  I will drive the space ship so you don't have to.  You can just be with me.  Don't worry, I will be there in case you are scared of comets.

Diego:  No, I need to be a cowboy.
