Shakespeare Festival

Diego and his 3rd grade class performed at the DPS Annual Shakespeare Festival downtown at the Performing Arts Center.  They did scenes from A Midsummer's Night Dream.  Diego was Oberon, the King of the Fairies.  He had a pretty big part and was one of only two people that got a microphone to wear.  He did great and had his lines memorized so well.  After the performance, he got to take the rest of the day off from school and come to lunch with me, Cesar, and my parents.  It was pretty different to have a meal with 4 adults and only one kid!  We love Diego!

Easter 2019

We went to a neighborhood egg scramble the Saturday before and then of course church and my parent's house on Easter.

Colorado Springs!!!

7 weeks ago Cesar got an email for a job offer tentative of him completing and passing a background check.  We are still waiting to hear back for the final job offer.  It's hard to wait, but we are trying to be patient.  The job is an architect for the US Army at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs.  We are excited to start a new chapter in our lives and hope it all goes smoothly.  We have looked at neighborhoods, houses, schools in North Colorado Springs and are so excited that we will be able to get a bigger house.  The kids are excited for their own bedrooms.  I am excited for a reliable predictable paycheck-  it will make budgeting a lot easier!  I am also excited that Cesar will get a lot of good benefits at this job.  But, for now we just wait....

UPDATE:  Cesar starts his new job at Fort Carson April 27th!

13th anniversary and 40th birthday

I am 40 years old!  My birthday was good. Cesar and I went on a date to see an art exhibit in Englewood.  It was called Natura Obscura.  It was pretty cool and interactive.  It was a date to celebrate our 13 wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday.

We also went to Idaho Springs with the kids.  We planned to hike, but when we got up there it was snowing and we were just not prepared!  Cesar actually forgot his coat at home and none of us had snow boots or gloves and hats.  We decided to just go eat pizza at Beau Jo's instead!  We all had a nice lunch and drive.

On my actual birthday we went to Colorado Springs to look at houses again and then we had a movie and dinner party at my parent's house.  My mom made french toast and we watched the new Mary Poppins movie. LaResa and her kids came too and we ate lots of candy!  It was fun.  

Spring Break 2019

We had a nice Spring Break.  I babysat most days, but still had a fun time with the kids and Cesar.  Here are a few pictures of the week:

We went to a skate park by the Apex Center.  It was chilly, but the boys had a lot of fun!  I think they found a new hobby.  Ruby mostly stayed in the car because she was cold.

One day we planned to go on a hike in Idaho Springs, but we didn't end up doing it because it started snowing and we weren't prepared.  Cesar had even accidentally left his coat at home!  So we went to eat at Beau Jo's instead!

We took Diego and his friends (Blake, Roxy, and Nico) to Jungle Quest.  It was a fun place.

Pine Wood Derby

Diego and Cesar were 2nd place in the Pine Wood Derby this year!  It was fun to see how nervous Diego was and how serious he was taking it.  He is a cutie!
